Lauren Alaina and Jon Pardi channel their inner Bonnie and Clyde in the just-released “Getting Over Him” music video.
The cinematic clip, which was directed by sister-brother duo Alexa and Stephen Kinigopoulos, follows the country stars as they portray a couple who robs a BBQ restaurant and try to escape the police.
The music video ends with Alaina riding off into the sunset with cash as Pardi gets handcuffed by the cops.
“Getting Over Him” takes a laid back approach to a rebound and finds Alaina seeking out a no strings attached hookup to heal her broken heart.
“We were dive bar kissing/ Heartbreak fixing/ No strings, Saturday night/ Hot like a match, that burned out fast/ Forever wasn’t in our eyes/ You knew it, and I knew it/ And it was a damn good time/ My last call, first call, no falling/ Just my getting over him guy,” the longtime friends sing on the chorus.
Alaina, who co-wrote the song alongside Paul DiGiovanni and Emily Weisband, says Pardi was the perfect pick for this collab.
“I’ve done duets with other people for their projects, but I have never done any for my own,” she previously acknowledged. “I’ve got a duet with Pardi on his album, and then he loved this one. His energy is so amazing.”
“I can’t believe I have a rebound song – but I do,” she added with a laugh.
“Getting Over Him” is the title track to Lauren Alaina’s latest EP. Click above to watch the brand new music video.
