Lauren Alaina made her debut on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars on Monday and her first dance did not disappoint.
The Georgia native, who is paired with DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko, turned heads with a cha cha to a version of Shania Twain’s iconic hit, “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.” Earning an impressive 19/30 for their first routine, Savchenko was praised for the routine and Alaina received a compliment from Carrie Ann Inaba regarding her loose movements.
Ahead of the long-awaited season 28 premiere, Alaina called into The Bobby Bones Show to chat with host and reigning DWTS champ, Bobby Bones, about how she was feeling going into her big DWTS debut.
“Excited. Scared. My feet hurt, I am feeling all of those things,” the 24-year-old confessed. “My body feels like I got hit by a dump truck, but other than that everything is great.”
During their conversation, Alaina also revealed that she and comedian John Crist had ended their relationship.
“There’s no big story,” she shared. “We were like best friends before we dated and we’re still best friends, it just didn’t work out.”
The current season of Dancing With the Stars also features The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown, Queer Eye star Karamo Brown, Dawson’s Creek’s James Van Der Beek, NFL legend Ray Lewis, former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke, NBA star Lamar Odom, Kenan and Kel star Kel Mitchell, former Supremes singer Mary Wilson, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer and The Office star Kate Flannery. An injury sidelined supermodel Christie Brinkley at the last minute, leaving her 21-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, to take her place competing on the show.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7 c on ABC.
