Lauren Alaina took a short break from her headlining That Girl Was Me Tour to make an appearance on NBC’s TODAY Show on Monday (Jan. 27).
During her visit to the popular morning show, the Georgia native made a surprise announcement, revealing plans to release a six-song EP.
“I have been singing new songs on the road that aren’t yet released,” Lauren said. “I’m working on my third album- it’s not finished yet, but I decided the songs we’re doing live, I’m going to put on an EP!”
The Dancing with the Stars alum also took the stage for a stunning performance of her current single, “Getting Good.” Backed by her touring band, Lauren’s impressive vocals shined as she belted out the lyrics, which encourage listeners to live in the moment.
“Once I get a house that I can hang my hat on, I bet I’ll want to build a bigger one if I could,” she sings. “I’m thinking, once I learn to grow right where I’m planted, maybe that’s when life starts getting good.”
“Getting Good” was written by Emily Weisband and produced by David Garcia.
The Getting Good EP arrives on March 6.
Until then, fans can catch Lauren Alaina and special guest Filmore on the road. The That Girl Was Me Tour opened with sold-out shows and will make its way to Boston, Philadelphia, and Columbus later this week.
