Rising country star Drew Baldridge returns with a very personal new single, “Middle Of Nowhere Kids,” available everywhere now.
A native of Patoka, Illinois, which has a population of just 582, Baldridge connected with “Middle Of Nowhere Kids” instantly.
“I chose this song because it hits so close to home for me,” he explains. “This song is very reminiscent of my life and everything I stand for.”
Descriptive lyrics paint a clear picture of life in a small town and the chorus questions what life is like beyond the confines of it.
“This is for the middle of nowhere kids/ Thinking that there’s gotta be more than this/ Cussin’ the dust and the wind and the red on your skin/ And that one stop light/ All you raised on a John Deere plow boys/ A song for all you cowboys/ Yeah I know right where you live/ All you middle of nowhere kids,” Baldridge sings throughout the chorus.
“I was that ‘Middle Of Nowhere Kid’ riding a tractor and dreaming of what it would be like to hear my music on the radio one day,” the singer adds. “Now the world gets to hear my story. I’m proud to be a ‘Middle of Nowhere Kid’.”
“Middle Of Nowhere Kids” was co-written by Randy Montana (Riley Green, Cody Johnson), John Pierce (Reba, Chris Young) and Tony Lane (Luke Bryan, Cody Johnson) and produced by Chris Stevens (Blake Shelton).
