Keith Urban just dropped his first new music of 2022 with the release of his brand new radio single, “Brown Eyes Baby.”
Co-written by Will Bundy, Rodney Clawson, Josh Thompson and Morgan Wallen, “Brown Eyes Baby” finds Urban crooning over a heartbroken woman as he promises to help her move past the grief of a failed relationship.
“I can put the smile right back where your smile goes/ Dreams back in what you see when your eyes close/ I’ll be the buzz that you feel when you sip slow/ Slow dance right back in your dirt road/ I can put the sun right back in your sunshine/ Bring a little love back into your late night/ Ain’t gotta be nothin’ more than one more drink and maybe/ I can take the blue out of your brown eyes, baby,” he sings on the chorus.
Produced by Dann Huff and Urban, “Brown Eyes Baby” is reminiscent of the superstar’s earlier work and even brings to mind his 2016 chart-topper, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.”
“Brown Eyes Baby” is Urban’s first release since 2021’s “Wild Hearts.” Last week, the country hitmaker debuted the song live on the TODAY Show.
“So we’ve been working on some new music that’s gonna be coming out very soon’ Urban said before performing the song of the show, “and we thought we might lay this one on you.”
Urban is currently in the midst of his The Speed Of Now World Tour, where he is performing the new song live each night.
The trek, which marks his first world tour in four years and features support from Ingrid Andress, kicked off on June 17 in Tampa, Florida and continues through the fall. The Speed Of Now World Tour will wrap up on November 5 in St. Paul, MN at Xcel Center.
