Luke Combs surprised fans early Friday morning with the announcement of a second Nashville stadium show.

The superstar revealed the news to fans in a video message shared just moments before tickets became available to his fan club and approximately an hour before tickets went on sale to the general public.

“So listen, I was sitting down with my team this week and we were kind of going over how these stadium shows have been going and some of the challenges of that and really the challenges of playing one show a week,” Combs began. ”That been the thing that’s been hardest for me because I love playing shows so much. I just enjoy the heck out of it and it’s something that I want to do more.”

He then revealed that he added a second date in Music City, just one week before the show is scheduled to take place.

“With that being said, we’re playing Nissan Stadium here next Saturday, April 15th. We’re also going to be playing Nissan Stadium this Friday, April 14th. So, we’re opening a brand-new show. The way that’s going to work is… Bootleggers, you’re going to get an email today at 9AM. You’re going to have first access to buy tickets and then at 10AM tickets will go on sale to the public. I cannot wait for this show… I look forward to seeing you guys there. I’m super excited about it. Two shows in Nashville and maybe some more exciting news on that front to come in other places too, so stay tuned. Love y’all, we’ll see you next weekend.”

Riley Green, Mitchell Tenpenny, Brent Cobb will serve as support on the show. “Flatland Calvary and Lainey Wilson already had commitments, so they couldn’t come on to this show last minute,” Combs shared.

The announcement comes just weeks after Combs released his highly anticipated new album, Gettin’ Old.

The project features 18 tracks, including “Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old,” “See Me Now,” “Joe,” “Tattoo On A Sunburn,” the fan-favorite tune, “5 Leaf Clover,” and his infamous cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.”

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through,” Combs previously explained on social media.

He continued, “It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”

While Gettin’ Old was released as a standalone album, it serves as a second (more mature) chapter, of his previously released project, Growin’ Up. When placed side by side, the album covers connect as one cohesive image. The album art seemingly refers to the shift Combs has seen in his life, from his days in the bar scene, to a life that revolves around being home with family in a house on a hill.

Combs recently made history when “Going, Going, Gone” claimed the No.1 spot at country radio. The song, co-written by Combs, Ray Fulcher, and James McNair, marks the superstar’s 15th consecutive chart-topper and is the longest consecutive streak for an artist since their debut.

On the personal front, the North Carolina native is expecting his second child with his wife, Nicole. The couple announced the news to fans on social media on March 20.

“Joining the 2 under 2 club! Baby boy #2 coming this September,” Luke and Nicole shared in a joint Instagram post.

The couple welcomed their first child, Tex Lawrence, on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Following the Nashville shows, Luke Combs’ World Tour will visit Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on April 22. A complete list of upcoming shows can be seen below.
