Luke Combs and Nicole Hocking have quickly become one of country music’s favorite couples. Here, we look back on their love story.
The two were introduced by mutual friends in May of 2016 at the Key West Songwriters Festival. Luckily, Luke and Nicole both lived in Nashville, so they were able to reconnect once they returned home when Luke invited Nicole to dinner. By September of that year, the couple had made their relationship official.

“I didn’t have anything going on when we met,” the superstar recalled during an appearance on Couple Things with Shawn Johnson and Andrew East. “I didn’t have a record deal, or a publishing deal, anything.”
Their relationship flourished and Luke eventually popped the question in November of 2018. Even though his proposal didn’t go exactly as planned, everything worked out for the best.

The couple tied the knot on August 1, 2020. The intimate ceremony in Southern Florida was a success, despite threat of Hurricane Isaias off the Florida coast.
Luke showed just how happy he was in an Instagram caption when posting about the wedding.
“Yesterday was the best day of my life. I got to marry my best friend. I love you @nicohocking, here’s to forever,” the superstar shared.
In the music video for his hit “Forever After All,” Luke gives fans a glimpse into the couple’s special day. The singer shared that the project “features footage from the best day of my life; the day I got to marry my best friend.”
The country star has written a handful of hit songs about his wife, including “Beautiful Crazy,” “Forever After All”, “Without You,” “Better Together” and “Lovin’ On You.”
Although the pair don’t have kids at the moment, they are definitely open to starting a family together in the future. When asked about having kids during an Instagram Q&A, Nicole shared with fans her excitement at the prospect of children with Luke, stating ““yess hopefully! I want a big family.”
