Luke Combs has earned countless accolades over the course of his career, including two CMA Entertainer of the Year titles, 11 total CMA Awards, four ACM Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards. A member of the Grand Ole Opry, Combs has also expanded his presence in Nashville by opening his own bar. However, one recognition left him completely stunned: being featured in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue.

The North Carolina, 34, native reacted to the honor while attending the 58th Annual CMA Awards late last month, where he joked that he planned to “hang it over everyone’s head” while at the show.

Combs, who was featured in the “Sexy at Every Age” portion of the issue, revealed that his mom is the one who sent him the news alongside a photo of the feature in the magazine.

“That’s when I was like, ‘Down year, 1990, must’ve been a down year.’ I thought it was the most-cheeseburgers-eaten list, is what I thought it was,” Combs joked while chatting with People on the CMA Awards red carpet. “And then to see this guy on there, I was like, ‘Man, times are tough in 1990 for me to be the hottest guy.’”

“But I’m hanging it over everyone’s head in here tonight, you know what I mean? They were like, ‘It’s not on the notecard.’ It doesn’t have to be baby, I got curb appeal,” he continued. “I could walk up, you know: I’m the sexiest 34-year-old man — not in the room, on the globe, apparently.”

He revealed that his wife, Nicole Combs, had been “loving hearing” all about his recent accolade.

“She’s never heard the end of it,” Combs shared. “So, that was the moment I knew, that’s when I knew [I made it].”

Combs performed his latest hit “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” during the CMA Awards where he was nominated for three trophies, including Entertainer of the Year.

The country superstar recently wrapped his stadium tour and celebrated the grand opening of Category 10 in Music City. The brand new entertainment establishment boasts four stories and three stages within a total of 67,000 square feet. The 7,000 square foot rooftop is set to open in early 2025.

The multi-platinum-selling star will have the opportunity to enjoy some downtime with his wife and two sons over the upcoming holiday season before kicking off the new year with a run of headlining shows across New Zealand and Australia. Beginning January 17, Combs will perform at Stadiums across the two countries through February 8.

Later in the year, he will headline several festivals, including Tortuga Music Festival, Stagecoach, and Boots in the Park.
