Luke Combs has been named the Top Country Artist at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards!
The superstar took home the honor On Wednesday (Oct. 14) evening following his performance of his new single, “Better Together.”
“I want to thank Billboard for this. This is an incredible honor and something that I would have never dreamed of when I was growing up when I started doing this,” he began. “I just want to thank the fans out there, my beautiful wife at home, my team, my band… I know everybody out there has been through so much this year.
Combs went on to give a shoutout to the Billboard Music Awards crew and once again thank his fans for their support.
Thank you so much for loving what I do,” he gushed. “It never falls on deaf ears the love that you guys give me and I’m very grateful for it and so is my team. Thank you guys so much.”

Also nominated for Top Country Artist was Kane Brown, Dan + Shay, Maren Morris and Thomas Rhett.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards also featured performances from Luke Combs, Garth Brooks and Kane Brown as well as Demi Lovato, Post Malone, BTS, Alicia Keys, Doja Cat, Sia and more. The Billboard Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions. Amy Thurlow, Mark Bracco, Barry Adelman, Linda Gierahn, Kelly Clarkson and Robert Deaton are executive producers.
Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the star-studded event aired on Wednesday, October 14 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on NBC.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards were originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 29, but were forced to be postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.

During this time, she hosted 24 weeks of live concerts via Country Now Live on Twitch with special guests such as Lady A, Dierks Bentley, Jordan Davis, Brett Young, and Jon Pardi. Over the course of her career, she has had the privilege of conducting interviews with some of the industry’s most prominent stars, including Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, and many others. Lauren Jo Black is a longtime member of the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.
