Luke Combs’ wife, Nicole Combs, has watched her husband’s career skyrocket over the past few years and his meteoric rise continues to amaze her to this day.
As Combs’ success reaches new heights, the soon-to-be mother of two took a moment to reflect on her husband’s journey with a heartfelt Instagram post.
The message was shared over a video of Luke Combs performing his breakout hit “Hurricane” on the second of two sold-out nights at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
“I’m truly blown away every single time I see Luke and the guys play,” Nicole wrote. “It’s unreal?? I remember hearing this song for the first time when he played it at a writers round in town, then I heard him play it in bars, clubs, theaters, amphitheaters, arenas, & now stadiums! What a wild insane ride it’s been to witness.”
Nicole was by Luke’s side long before he became a country music sensation. The couple met during the 2016 Key West Songwriters Festival in Florida. At the time, Nicole was working at BMI, who served as the host of the event, and Combs was a performer.
“I didn’t have anything going on when we met,” Luke explained during an appearance on the podcast Couple Things with Shawn Johnson and Andrew East. “I didn’t have a record deal or a publishing deal or anything.”
Nicole says she made the first move.
“I was leaving a songwriters round and he was walking up late to it and I was just like, ‘hey, come hang out with us, why are you by yourself?,” she recalled.
Thinking back to that night, Luke laughed and admitted, “Yeah, I looked bad too… I was wearing camo gym shorts from Walmart… classy, classy stuff. And like the oldest t-shirt that I owned, probably.”
The couple began dating soon after and officially tied the knot on August 1, 2020. They shared footage from their wedding day in Luke Combs’ music video for his chart-topping hit, “Forever After All.”
Luke and Nicole became parents on June 19, 2022 when they welcomed a son, Tex Lawrence. They shared the news with fans on social media alongside a loving family photo.
“Welp he decided that Father’s Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy,” he wrote at the time. “Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”
The Combs household is eagerly anticipating the upcoming arrival of their second son, expanding their family even further.
“Joining the 2 under 2 club! Baby boy #2 coming this September,” Luke and Nicole shared in a joint Instagram post when they announced her pregnancy earlier this year.
Nicole has inspired several songs in Luke’s catalog, including “Beautiful Crazy,” “Better Together,” “Forever After All” and more recently “Love You Anyway,” a track that appears on his latest album, Gettin’ Old.
Gettin’ Old, which arrived on March 24, 2023, features 18 tracks, including “Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old,” “See Me Now,” “Joe,” “Tattoo On A Sunburn,” “5 Leaf Clover,” as well as his chart-topping cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” and more.
“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through,” Combs previously explained on social media. He continued, “It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
Luke Combs is currently in the midst of his massive World Tour, which kicked off on March 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and runs through October 20, where it will wrap up with back-to-back shows in London, England at The O2 Arena.
Hitting three continents and 16 countries, the massive outing will make stops throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
