Luke Combs continues his record-breaking streak at country radio this week as his current single, “Better Together,” reaches the No.1 spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
This marks the ACM, CMA and CMT Award-winning artist’s 10th consecutive chart-topping single and the first time an artist has earned 10 successive No.1 singles on that chart.
“Better Together” is one of five new tracks featured on Combs’ new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. The song was co-written by Combs alongside Joe Fox and Phil Barton and was inspired by his wife, Nicole.
“Some things just go better together and probably always will/ Like a cup of coffee and a sunrise, Sunday drives and time to kill’ What’s the point of this ol’ guitar if it ain’t got no strings?/ Or pourin’ your heart into a song that you ain’t gonna sing?/ It’s a match made up in heaven, like good ol’ boys and beer/ And me, as long as you’re right here,” the North Carolina native sings on the touching chorus.
Combs is also celebrating a new album milestone this week as his global No. 1 record, What You See Is What You Get, is newly certified RIAA double Platinum.
Combs was recently announced as the headliner for a pre-race concert prior to the Daytona 500 next month. The superstar will take the stage before the 63rd running of The Great American Race in front of a limited number of fans at the World Center of Racing while millions will watch from home on FOX.
“I grew up watching the NASCAR race every Sunday with my granddad; that was our thing,” Combs previously shared. “I never could have imagined back then that I’d be playing the Daytona 500 one day, so this is super awesome and is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Luke Combs‘ performance will air at 1 pm ET on Sunday, February 14 on FOX.
