After being hospitalized over a month due to pregnancy complications, Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Kerr has welcomed her first child with husband Josh Kerr.

Arriving several weeks earlier than expected, their daughter, Leighton Grace Kerr, was born at 2:42 p.m. on Monday, January 17, weighing in at 2 lbs, 5 oz. Leighton Grace arrived three months early, according to People.com

Taylor took to Instagram to share the news on Thursday morning (Jan. 20).

“She’s beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. ”She decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy. We already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜”

Taylor was placed on bed rest sometime in December, and at that time the “Women You Got” singers shared that “Tae and her baby are doing great.” Following Taylor’s hospitalization, the duo subsequently canceled all of their upcoming tour dates “out of precaution” and promised to share rescheduled dates soon.

On January 12, Taylor and Josh shared that she had been hospitalized for a full month.

“T went in for a routine check up at 24 weeks then we were immediately admitted, and we have been here since,” Josh revealed at the time.

They also shared that their daughter was “doing great,” however “she is just a little more excited than she is ready to be in the world.”

Kerr went on to thank fans and friends for supporting them during this difficult time.

“This hasn’t been easy, but we’re leaning on God and trusting His plan. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.”
