Maren Morris just accomplished something no female country artist has done since February 2018.

The superstar’s latest smash, “Girl,” reached the top of the country radio charts this week, marking first solo song by a female to reach the top of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart since February 2018 when Kelsea Ballerini’s “Legends” reached No.1. The song also became Morris’ third chart-topping single.

“Girl” is the lead release from Morris’ sophomore album of the same name. Earlier this year, the track made history with the highest debut on Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs chart by a female artist and the highest weekly streams by a female country artist ever. The Texas native made history once again when her album shattered the record for the largest-ever debut streaming week for a country album by a woman with 23.96 million streams in its first week.

Morris celebrated the good news over the weekend when she, along with her supergroup The Highwomen, had the chance to share the stage with the legendary Dolly Parton at the Newport Folk Festival. While on stage together, Parton congratulated Morris on her chart-topping song, leaving Morris speechless.

Maren Morris is currently in the midst of her world tour. Later this fall, she will join Miranda Lambert on her all-female Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour.
