Megan Moroney is wearing “Tennessee Orange” for him in the just-released music video for her breakout hit.
On Wednesday (Jan. 11), the 2023 Country Now Artist To Watch released the official music video for her major label debut single “Tennessee Orange.”
Shot from the perspective of Moroney’s love interest, the video plays out through his eyes he spends time with her over breakfast, accompanies her for karaoke at Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge, and joins her for a night on the town on Lower Broadway.
“I had so much fun making this video with Jason Lester!” Moroney said. “I think we could have taken this video in a few different directions, and I was so excited to film it from ‘his’ point of view. This song is about more than a football team and I think we captured the love story perfectly.”
An unknown love interest also meets Moroney at Elliston Place Soda Shop where they share a milkshake with two straws.
The rising star sports several outfit changes throughout the “Tennessee Orange” music video, including a Tennessee orange DanielxDiamond jacket with silver fringe, a silver sequin mini-dress, an all-black leather ensemble, and more.

Directed by Jason Lester, Moroney’s video concludes as the mystery man and the 25-year-old singer/songwriter recreate the buzzed-about Instagram photos that took the internet by storm, which Moroney shared in August of 2022. Moroney is seen wearing the Tennessee Volunteers t-shirt, that once belonged to Morgan Wallen.
She previously revealed that the shirt was in fact Morgan Wallen’s after fans speculated that the song was written with Wallen in mind. However, the Georgia native has yet to confirm or deny if the song was written about the “You Proof” singer.
During a recent interview with Storme Warren and Macie Banks on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Moroney admitted that the shirt is Wallen’s.
“Yeah, I mean it is his shirt,” she told the co-hosts, before adding, “But, it’s just a shirt.”
New Music
Fans will also notice a reference to her much-anticipated new song, “Traitor Joe,” around the one-minute mark. Moroney previously teased this unreleased song on TikTok. Fans flocked to the comments section begging her to release the full track.
In mid-November of 2022, the viral hitmaker announced that she signed a record deal with Sony Music/Columbia Records while performing to a sold-out crowd in Music City at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.
“No one knows this at all. So here goes nothing,” she began. “Last week, I signed a record deal with Sony Music. I’m very thankful. I couldn’t have done it without all the people who have supported me so far. So thank you so much.”
She later took to Instagram to share the exciting news with fans who weren’t at the show.
“I can’t believe this is even an announcement I get to make… But I signed a record deal last week with Sony Music!!!!” Moroney captioned the video on Instagram. “It’s because of y’all’s support that I was able to handpick the right team of people for me & my vision, so THANK YOU!!! My first full-length album is written, and I start recording in the studio next month… I’m so excited for the next chapter, love y’all so much!!!! ❤️🧡😭🥳.”
“Tennessee Orange” is expected to appear on Moroney’s major label debut, which is slated to arrive later this year.
The yet-to-be-announced project will follow her previously released EP, Pistol Made Of Roses, produced by Sugarland’s Kristian Bush.
Megan Moroney will soon embark on her first-ever headlining tour, which will feature support from Logan Crosby.
Dubbed the Pistol Made Of Roses Tour, the trek kicks off on April 13 in Chattanooga, Tennessee at The Barrelhouse Ballroom and runs through April 28, where the tour wraps up at Brewsky’s in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Many of the upcoming dates have already sold out.
Fans can also catch Moroney on several festivals next year, including Tortuga Music Festival, Tidalwave Music Festival and Cavendish Beach Music Festival 2023.
