On Friday, February 20, excited fans gathered at Raising Cane’s Times Square Global Flagship to celebrate the release of Megan Moroney’s new album, Cloud 9. What was meant to be a simple listening party honoring the country star’s new era quickly turned into the surprise of a lifetime.
The restaurant felt like a full-on Cloud 9 takeover, lit up in pink both inside and out with themed décor placed all throughout. Devoted fans waited in line in the rain, received pink Cane’s hats to match the moment, and some even traveled hours, including one fan who drove 10 hours just to be a part of the celebration.

As fans made their way inside and picked up copies of the 15-track album, Megan Moroney suddenly appeared behind the counter with a Box Combo in hand as Cloud 9 songs played through the speakers. She spent time with all the lucky attendees, snapping selfies and signing everything from posters and vinyls to the pink Cane’s hats. It’s no secret that Moroney has a strong bond with her fans, so it was only natural that she kick off release day by celebrating it with them.
The unforgettable event also offered the first look at in-restaurant Cloud 9 displays, which began rolling out on Friday to more than 900 Raising Cane’s locations nationwide.
This isn’t the first time Moroney has teamed up with Raising Cane’s to pull off a surprise for fans. After first hinting at her new album back in November, she made a pop-up appearance at a Cane’s location near her alma mater, University of Georgia. Since then, Moroney has continued to build a close relationship with the brand, its founder Todd Graves and his daughter Sophia. Thanks to the ongoing support from the restaurant, Moroney’s signature pink era is now appearing at Raising Cane’s locations all over the country.
During her appearance, Moroney also hosted a press conference with members of the media, where she opened up about her partnership with Cane’s means to her.
“My favorite thing about the Cane’s partnership is that it’s just so organic. My Twitter bio used to say, ‘Can I please get a Box Combo with an extra sauce and a Sprite,’” Moroney shared. “It’s very easy to partner with Cane’s and I love Todd, I love his story, he’s very hardworking, kind and his whole family is wonderful. It’s fun and I like to include Cane’s in all this exciting stuff.”
Serving as a co-writer on all 15 tracks of Cloud 9, Moroney pours out nothing but raw vulnerability and authenticity while sharing stories of real-life experiences. Whether it’s love, heartbreak, or the everyday struggles of life, she is confident that fans will connect to the newly-released songs, just as they have been with previously released tracks like “Wish I Didn’t,” the GOLD-certified Country radio No. 1 smash “6 Months Later,” the Billboard Hot 100-charting “Beautiful Things,” and the title track.

She explained that with this album, fans gave her the confidence to take a slightly different approach. Instead of writing with some hesitation of how she might be perceived by certain things she wanted to say, she chose to write without overthinking anything. There was no checking boxes and no holding back this time around.
“I definitely think there’s like a lot of confidence and it feels because of the confidence that, you know, I’ve developed. It’s translated into my personal life and how I just interact and think about things. So that’s kind of woven throughout the entire album,” she explained.
Moroney added that among all the songs on the album, she feels she is most proud of “Bells & Whistles” as it features one of her biggest musical inspirations, Kacey Musrgaves.
“Her album Same Trailer, Different Park made me want to write my own songs. So to have such a full circle moment. I feel like that kind of stuff doesn’t happen, so I’m really grateful,” she added.
Raising Cane’s has earned a reputation for blending stardom with its “ONE LOVE” mantra and turning important cultural moments into experiences fans won’t forget. Megan Moroney’s Times Square listening party was no exception. The event was full of excitement, and all the Cloud 9 celebration fans could hope for.

With Megan Moroney’s Cloud 9 Tour coming up, this was just the first glimpse of the fun and excitement she has planned for fans this spring. The international headline trek will launch in May and continue through October with stops at some of the biggest arenas across North America, Europe, and the UK.
Prior to that, fans can catch Moroney on her Meet Me on Cloud 9 limited run, which will find her keeping the celebrations going as she appears in nine cities in nine days.
More information about both runs can be found on Megan Moroney’s official website.
