Like many Americans, Miranda Lambert is practicing social distancing in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. She and her husband, Brendan, have become accustomed to life on the road, so the thought of being home and staying home came as a bit of a shock to her at first.

In a recent Instagram post, the superstar detailed her self-quarantine experience for fans.

“I haven’t really known what to say on social media during all this,” she admitted. “I’m not great at socials anyway and a time like this makes it that much more difficult for me to figure out how to be. Tuesday of this week is when I finally realized I could unpack. For the next few months for me there are no shows, no sound checks, no bus calls, no flights. Just home. Once I processed it, I actually got a feeling of peace even though , like all of us, my anxiety about the state of the world right now is still through the roof.”

After coming to terms with her new normal, Lambert decided to make the most of her time and finally get to some projects around the farm that she had been putting off because “organization is not my fav,” she says. In addition to working on projects around the house, Lambert said that she and Brendan have spent time cooking, cleaning, working out and “spending time with dogs and horses and just being together quietly.”

The superstar also tapped into her songwriting while at home.

“I have written a few songs for the first time in a year,” she shared. “And text writing a cowgirl song with @ronniedunn (such a fan girl of B&D).”

Before closing out her update to fans, Lambert gave a shoutout to her parents, who had just sent the couple a box of goodies from home.

“But in happy news, this box arrived today and I felt my heart jump. Some wine from @red55winery , freshly canned salsa, apple butter, Paw Paws bbq sauce, and a note on napkin. ‘Sending love from home. love mom and dad (be safe),’” she wrote. “I do feel safe now knowing that even though they are over 600 miles away I’m connected to all of them.”

After showing gratitude to first responders and health care workers Lambert sent out two important reminders to fans: “Stay home. Call home.”

Miranda Lambert recently shared a stunning new music video for her latest single, “Bluebird.” On Sunday, the superstar will perform during the two-hour television special, ACM Presents: Our Country. Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and more will also performing beginning Sunday, April 5 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT and 7:00 PM CT) on the CBS Television Network and on CBS All Access.
