Mitchell Tenpenny is kicking off the new year with a timely new song about living in the moment.
Out now, “Bucket List” finds Tenpenny encouraging listeners to “love a little more, dream a little deeper” and to make the most of every day.
“‘Bucket List’ is about trying to live every day like it’s your last. You never know how long you have on this earth, so you need to try and live it to the fullest,” Tenpenny shares. “I think it’s perfect timing for this song because 2020 was completely unexpected and a lot of people lost so much. And though this song does not speak to the pandemic per-say, it does speak to making sure you truly live every day. My hope is that it inspires people to make goals and try to cross them off as fast as possible.”

The rising star co-wrote “Bucket List” alongside Chris DeStefano and Laura Veltz in 2019.
“It was one of those songs that just literally fell out of us,” Tenpenny recently shared with People.
“We all have our own version of what a bucket list is. So, we all started talking about things we wanted to get done before we cross everything off of our list, you know? I sang it that day, but then I lived with it for a while. But it became this song that my manager kept bringing up, so here we are,” he added with a laugh. “It was written for this time, even though it wasn’t written in this time.”
The Nashville native’s current single, “Broken Up,” is at country radio now.
