Morgan Wallen earned his 10th career No.1 at country radio with “Thinkin’ Bout Me” as it claims the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week.
As reported by Country radio insider, Chris Owen, “Thinkin’ Bout Me” secured its place at No.1 just nine weeks after it entered the Top 30. The post-breakup anthem was co-written by John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Taylor Phillips, and Ryan Vojtesak and appears on Wallen’s latest album, the 36-track One Thing At A Time.
10th Chart-Topping Single
Throughout the song, Wallen sends a message to an ex questioning if he’s still on her mind, despite the fact that she’s moved on with someone new.
“When you’re tastin’ what he’s drinkin’, are you thinkin’ ’bout me?/ When you’re ridin’ where he’s drivin’, are you missin’ my street?/ Every time you close your eyes, tell me, who do you see?/ When you’re tastin’ what he’s drinkin’, are you thinkin’ bout me?/ Comin’ over tonight, wish that truck in your drive was mine/ Just like you know it’s supposed to be/ When you’re up in his bed, am I up in your head?/ Making you crazy, tell me, baby, are you thinkin’ ’bout me?/ Are you thinkin’ ’bout, are you thinkin’ ’bout/ When you’re tastin’ what he’s drinkin’, are you thinkin’ ’bout me?,” he sings over electronic beats and heavy bass.
Dominating The Charts
With his newly minted chart-topper, Wallen has now spent 13 weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this year, according to Owen. Since last October, he has sat at No.1 for a whipping 22 weeks, marking the most weeks ever at No.1 on that chart for a solo artist in a single year.
The chart-topping success of “Thinkin’ Bout Me” follows “Last Night,” which hit No.1 in May. This was his fastest-rising No. 1 to date (with just 11 weeks) and the fastest-charting No. 1 since 2015.
Wallen is currently on a break from his wildly successful One NIght at at Time World Tour. He’ll return to the stage for back-to-back nights at Atlanta’s Truist Park on November 10 and November 11 before wrapping the U.S. dates of his 2023 touring schedule up in Texas with shows in Austin (November 16) and Houston (November 18). The East Tennessee native’s final show of the year will take place on December 3 at the O2 in London.
2024 Tour
In 2024, the current CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee will kick things back into high gear with the extension of his One Night At A Time World Tour. The newly announced dates begin in April at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
A rotating lineup of guests including Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson, Nate Smith, Bryan Martin, Lauren Watkins and Ella Langley will join Wallen on select dates of the tour.
Fans were surprised with the news of the newly added dates when Wallen shared a comical video announcement featuring the Manning brothers, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.
“Thank y’all for an insanely fun and fulfilling 2023 tour,” Wallen shared in a statement in conjunction with the news. “It was impossible for me to hit every stadium that I wanted to in 2023, so we’re gonna keep this tour going in 2024. See y’all out there!”
