Morgan Wallen met 12-year-old Brevin Guidroz backstage at his recent concert in Orange Beach, Alabama. The “You Proof” singer previously reached out to the 12-year-old, sending him gifts and a handwritten note after Brevin’s mom reached out and explained her son looked up to him and could use some encouragement.
Brevin’s mom Andrea shared photos of herself and her son at Wallen’s Alabama concert on Facebook along with a screenshot of a text message from the singer’s manager, who helped surprise the boy.
“I’ll come get you from your seats around 6:30,” a member of Wallen’s team wrote in a text to Andrea. “I’m going to pretend that I am randomly giving people a backstage tour,” she added.
Later, Andrea shared photos of her son and Wallen to her Facebook feed that showed the two of them hanging out backstage.
“The conversation between [Morgan and Brevin] were like they’d known each other forever!,” Andrea said. “They talked music, sports, teams/players, about life – he really is just a plain ole’ country boy.”
“I got something in my eye over here,” a friend named Paige commented on Andrea’s post of her son with Wallen. “So happy he got this experience.”
“It really was the experience of a lifetime! His team is amazing & really went above & beyond!” Andrea responded.
Andrea was able to get in touch with Wallen previously thanks to Jude Walker, the manager of the radio station 97.3 The Dawg. Walker was reportedly approached by a member of Wallen’s team who asked for Brevin’s address when he played a show at the Cajundome in Louisiana.
Wallen sent 12-year-old Brevin a hat, T-shirt, and handwritten note after Andrea explained that her son had been struggling with feelings of abandonment after his father gave up his rights to the boy, which prompted him to start therapy.
“If you could just reply and with a simple “Good Job, Brevin” for a little positive reinforcement, it would absolutely make his day! As a mother, I can’t thank you enough for being the role model you are,” Andrea’s note to Wallen read in part.
Andrea shared photos and a video of Brevin opening his gifts from Wallen to her Facebook page. Brevin was so excited to receive the gifts from Wallen that he cried and said he was “so blessed.”
After receiving the gifts from Wallen, Brevin shared that he’d love to meet the singer and shake his hand. It looks like he got his wish.
Wallen is currently performing on his Dangerous tour. He’ll play his first stadium on the tour at Globe Life Field in October.
