The Voice welcomed Nashville-based country/pop trio DEK of Hearts to the stage for a blind audition during the Season 28 premiere on Monday, and it didn’t take long for them to impress the coaches with their harmony-filled rendition of Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.”
Reba McEntire was the first to turn her chair, quickly followed by Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé, giving the trio a coveted four-chair turn.

As their families looked on from backstage, Dylan, Emily, and Kollin (who make up DEK of Hearts) delivered a lively take on the fan-favorite hit. The audience clapped along as the coaches bobbed their heads, cheered, and smiled throughout the performance.
Afterward, the group introduced themselves, sharing that they’ve been performing together for just over a year and have spent much of that time honing their craft with “four-hour bar gigs” around Nashville.
“The fact that you’re 14 months together and that’s how tight you are in the harmonies. That was pretty impressive. There’s obviously a lot of practice that goes into that. I’ve been in a band, so I know how much he practiced with that song,” Horan told the trio, later adding, “I know this is a tough ask. I know it’s Reba, but please.”

McEntire was so passionate about the situation that she got up out of her seat to plead her case and made a very bold statement: “It’s my turn to talk…Ignore him. Totally. I love with all my heart, three part harmony. It touches the core of my being. I tell you how important this is to me for y’all to be on my team.…Y’all are going to make it to the finals and on my team, I hope, hope, hope. Thank you so much.”

Bublé had his moment, telling them, ”Just see what a great coach I am. I need you!”
Finally, Snoop Dogg had the opportunity to do some convincing, urging them to consider Team Snoop.
“Joining my team is something completely different, but I truly understand music. I understand musicians and showmanship and all the things that you guys represent, so I’ll just say dare to be different,” he shared.
Faced with a tough decision, DEK of Hearts huddled together to weigh their options before announcing they’d be joining Team Niall, a move that stunned everyone, including Niall himself. Reba McEntire was so shocked they didn’t choose her team that she stood up and playfully collapsed to the floor, pretending to pass out.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
