Ned LeDoux in Buffalo Daze

Country artist Ned LeDoux, son of late rodeo world champion and entertainer Chris LeDoux, is making his acting debut in Buffalo Daze, now streaming on Amazon Prime.

The Western drama follows Jim Grinder, an “Indian cowboy” and modern-day Robin Hood on an Indian Reservation, an outlaw to the government but a hero to his Tribe, as he fights a law that would make his very existence a crime during a time when the Old West was fading and the world was on the brink of war.

LeDoux portrays Sheriff William O’Connell, Grinder’s nemesis, in the film directed by Raen LeVell. The role places him opposite Brady Jandreau, who stars as Grinder.

“The real-life characters in Buffalo Daze are great. This was my first time being in a film and man, what a great experience,” LeDoux shared.

LeDoux also appears in the critically acclaimed docudrama Outriding the Devil, which premiered December 9 during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Of that role, LeDoux shared, “I play Angela Ganter’s uncle, Charlie Campbell, opposite Lily Wright, who plays a young Angela, in a dramatization that is cowboy and cowgirl to the core…In the movie, I also share some stories about Dad, and what Cheyenne Frontier Days meant to him.”

Earlier this year, Ned Ledoux released his new album Safe Haven, showcasing his growth both as a songwriter and as a person following his 2022 full-length project, Buckskin. While rooted in his traditional sound, the album reveals a new side of LeDoux and signals that his momentum is only continuing to build.

“I’m writing my own story and if people take a liking to it, that’s wonderful,” LeDoux previously shared. “As long as I’m writing from the heart, and writing about what I know, I can definitely listen back to it and be proud.”

While Ned LeDoux proudly carries on the legacy of his legendary father, Chris LeDoux, he continues to carve out his own path, with Buckskin marking another step forward in that journey.

“I hope I inspire people to never forget where you came from,” he says. “That’s one thing I’m very proud of. I’m carrying on a tradition, but I’m writing my own story. I’m very proud of my family and friends and there’s one piece of advice my mom gave me when we were kids: ‘Never forget where you came from and show respect to people no matter where you are.’ So with this album I hope to inspire and show people, ‘Hey this old cowboy isn’t changing for nobody.’ I want people to know they should never give up on a dream. There’s always time. Just keep on going.”
