Niko Moon took to social media to announce that on Wednesday (Nov. 16), he and his wife, Anna welcomed their first child, Lily Anne Moon.
The country star was captured holding his daughter in his arms in the hospital chair while staring at her lovingly.
His caption read, “Lily Anne Moon is here y’all! 💛”
Anna shared the heartfelt post to her Instagram story and wrote, “This man was made to be her daddy.”
The couple first announced their pregnancy with PEOPLE in August. Their post included stunning photos showcasing the Moons dressed in casual white attire as they both laid their hands over Anna’s pregnant belly. The caption revealed that their daughter was due in November.
“She’s so pregnant right now. We couldn’t keep the secret anymore even if we wanted to,” Moon told Music Mayhem. “Our family has known and people close to us have known for a minute. It’s so amazing to share it with everyone. We’ve wanted a family for a long time, and it’s been a long process to get here, but we’re just so grateful to be able to be parents.”
In sharing this exciting news, Moon and Anna also unveiled a teaser of the new song they had written together, which the country star released shortly after. “I Can’t Wait To Love You” was inspired by the first moment they found out their long journey with IVF [in-vitro fertilization] was finally paying off.
“I can’t wait to hear your laugh / I can’t wait to see your smile / I can’t wait to look into your eyes / And get lost for a little while / I can’t wait to feel your hand / When it’s holding on to mine / I can’t wait for you to say my name / It’s gon’ get me every time / But out of all the things that I can’t wait to do / I can’t wait to love you,” the sing in the passionate chorus.
The songwriters also opened up to PEOPLE about their journey with IVF, which began back in 2020. Moon reflected on finally getting the all-clear to take an at-home test and then seeing the positive result almost instantly.
“From the moment I met her, I knew she would make the most amazing mother! Our path to seeing those two pink lines was one we weren’t expecting, and one that led us to doing IVF [in-vitro fertilization],” says Moon of his wife.
“After Anna’s transfer, we had waited about two weeks and got the green light to try an at-home test. Before I could even lay the test on the bathroom counter for her, I saw that it was positive! After all we had been through, it was an extremely surreal and emotional moment for us both.”
Amid all the excitement of that moment they had waited so long for, Anna pulled out her phone and captured some of Niko Moon’s initial feelings. This clip was shared along with the release of their newest song.
The “GOOD TIME” singer can be heard saying, “Oh my god, we just found out that you’re gonna be born. How amazing is that? That is the most amazing feeling in the world. We can’t wait to meet you and to know you and fall in love with you. I love you, I’ll see you soon.”
Niko Moon recently wrapped up his headlining Coastin’ tour that kicked off on September 30 in Cincinnati, OH with special guest Dylan Schneider. Coming up next, he has several music festivals penned in for 2023. His first is set for February 24 in Saint Louis, MO.
