Noah Thompson’s son recently appeared in the new music video for his song, “Make You Rich,” a tune that was co-written by Jason Nix, Craig Wiseman, and Driver Williams.
The song finds Thompson being thankful for all that he has in life while remembering that no matter how wealthy you become, it’s always important to remain humble and value life’s most simple things.
“Make You Rich”
“I’m from a small town in Eastern Kentucky and didn’t grow up with much,” Thompson previously shared of the track. “I’ve learned to value my friends and family so much more than the materialistic things we can have in life. I joke that I’m just a simple guy. I’ve also learned, even when life is tough, the more you give, and the more you love, the richer you are, and that is the whole meaning behind ‘Make You Rich.’”
Thompson filmed the music video for the tune in his hometown of Louisa, Kentucky. The clip finds Thompson wandering the streets where he grew up and seeing his name on buildings throughout the small town. As the clip concludes, He and his son are seen walking through a field hand in hand sharing some quality time together as Thompson sings the tune.
“Be a better man than the old man was / Give a damn when nobody else does / Love your woman like you’re paid to / Like you ain’t afraid to / Like she was made for you / Be a good friend when a good friend needs it / Have a little faith when no one believes it / When it comes to love I’ll tell you this / You’ve got to give it like the givens gonna make you rich,” Thompson sings on the track’s chorus.
American Idol Journey
The Kentucky native dedicated his American Idol journey to his son, often sharing, “I want my son to see that I am chasing my dreams, and I want him to know he can chase his too. I want to give my son a better life.”
Throughout Thompson’s time on Idol, the “One Day Tonight” singer has credited his son as his reason to keep moving forward on his Idol journey.
“He’s my exact reason for doing this. I mean he is my motivation for all of it. He’s the thing I think about all the time and why I really wanna do this,” Thompson told Music Mayhem.
Earlier this year, Thompson shared adorable father/son portraits. The series of photos, taken by Lena Webb Photography, feature Thompson and Walker Lee all smiles as they posed together. The carousel of images also included candid shots of Thompson and Walker spending some quality time together in a field as the photographer perfectly captured their natural smiles and fun-filled moments.
“Look how pretty this little dude is, @lenawebbphotography you absolutely killed these!! Thank you so much!!!” Thompson captioned the snapshots alongside the hashtags: #fatherandson #lovelikenoother #littleboy.
