Reba McEntire’s Son Shelby Blackstock and Wife Marissa Welcome Their Baby Boy
The couple has officially introduced their son Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock to the world.

Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock.
The couple took to Instagram to announce the news on Wednesday, October 21, with a few photos shared to their Instagram stories alongside a heartfelt statement.
They reflected on finally getting to “call ourselves mom and dad,” after suffering a pregnancy loss last December. This was understandably disheartening news for the couple as they trying to have a baby for three years, using a combination of natural methods, medicated cycles and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
They also explained that their baby boy, “Archie,” actually arrived a few weeks ago, but they waited to share the news with the world in order to have some time to soak up the new chapter on their own first.
“We’ve been taking these first few weeks just for us, and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be.”
In another slide, the new parents noted that their son “had a rough first week.”
Over the summer, fans learned of the baby’s name through photos of the music-themed baby shower. The couple shared photos from the celebration that leaned into the Blackstock family’s musical roots by transforming the event into Archer’s “Welcome to the World Tour,” complete with a slew of concert-inspired details.
The lovebirds first met on the dating app Tinder in 2014 and began dating two years later. Their love only grew stronger and in 2022, they tied the knot in a ceremony held at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, the same theme part where they would go on to announce their pregnancy in April of 2026.
They wrote, “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! 🤟🏼”
Shelby is Reba McEntire’s only biological child and this will be her first biological grandchild. However, she also had a close relationship with her late stepson Brandon Blackstock, son of her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock.
Brandon passed away last August at age 48 following his battle with skin cancer. He is survived by his four children, including two kids that he shared with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson.
As Shelby and Marissa begin this exciting new chapter, their announcement marks a long-awaited milestone after years of hoping to become parents.
