Brooks & Dunn burst onto the country music scene in 1991 with their debut single, “Brand New Man.”
Released on June 10, 1991 and co-written by Kix Brooks, Don Cook and Ronnie Dunn, “Brand New Man” was an instant success for the duo. The track went on to become Brooks & Dunn‘s first chart-topping single. The success of the song helped Brooks & Dunn make history, becoming the second country band to reach No.1 with a debut single (the first was Diamond Rio, whose song “Meet in the Middle” topped the charts a few months earlier.
“Brand New Man” was also the title track of Brooks & Dunn’s debut album, which was released on August 13, 1991. The record produced four consecutive No.1 singles and helped launch Brooks & Dunn’s massive country music career.
In 2019, Brooks & Dunn re-recorded “Brand New Man” for their Reboot album with fellow country superstar Luke Combs.
