Reba, the iconic television sitcom starring country superstar and entertainer Reba McEntire, celebrates its 20thanniversary on October 5th.

The hit show, predominantly filmed in front of a live audience, premiered on October 5, 2001 and ran until February 18, 2007. The sitcom, starring McEntire, JoAnne Garcia Swisher, Steve Howey, Melissa Peterman, Christopher Rich and Scarlett Pomers and set in Houston, Texas, follows McEntire’s beloved character, Reba Hart, as she navigates the ins and outs of being a single mother.

The series originally premiered on The WB and aired on the network for five seasons. In 2006, The WB was discontinued and Reba was moved to The CW for its sixth and final season.

To celebrate the monumental anniversary, UPtv aired a marathon of Reba, coined “Rebaversary,” on Friday, October 1stand Saturday, October 2nd. The special included exclusive content from filming, DVD extras and episodes picked by the cast.

In addition to the marathon, McEntire and co-star Melissa Peterman will be taking part in a Facebook Live on October 5th, the exact day 20 years ago that the series premiered. Radio personality Kelly Sutton will host the live, which will be available to watch on Reba’s and UPtv’s Facebook pages from 6-6:45 pm ET.

The excitement surrounding Reba doesn’t stop there. Talk of a reunion has been buzzing following a virtual sketch filmed by McEntire and Peterman in 2020 where the actresses portrayed how their characters from the show would act during quarantine.

“We’d love to, as a matter of fact, we’ve been texting each other,” McEntire shared in an interview on the TODAY show about a possible reboot. “Melissa Peterman started it out and we’re all talking, hoping to get back together. We miss each other. It was a fun group to get to play with, work with, so we’d love to do it. Even if it’s two-hour movie or a…I don’t know, whatever. We’d love to get back together. They’re wonderful people.”
