And baby makes THREE!
Russell Dickerson and his wife, Kailey, are expecting their first child.
The couple confirmed the news to People on Wednesday (April 15), revealing that they had been trying to conceive for quite some time.
“It just got to the point where we’re like, ‘Well, if it happens, it happens. It’ll happen when it does.’ It’s all God’s timing on that part,” Dickerson shared. “So yeah, I was completely surprised.”
Kailey revealed the news to the “Love You Like I Used To” singer on New Year’s Day. After their extended family left, she told Russell she had one more Christmas present for him.
“She put a stocking up on the mantel and I opened it,” he told People, calling it “sweetest” surprise.
Inside the stocking, he found “little navy blue slippers with big white letters on them.” The slippers read: “Best Dad.”
Kailey’s pregnancy is going well so far and lucky for her, she’s had “zero” morning sickness.
As for the baby’s gender, the couple plans to share that news when they begin work on their nursery.
“I’ve been rocking the dad shoes for a while now. NOW they’re official!” Dickerson joked.
Russell and Kailey wed in 2013. They recently bought a new home together and plan to begin plans for the nursery soon.
