Scotty McCreery, his wife, Gabi, and their son, Merrick Avery, enjoyed some fun in the sun over the July Fourth holiday.

The country singer and his family were all smiles in a new photo shared to Gabi’s official Instagram account.

The picture-perfect snapshot appears to be taken on a lake where people can be seen enjoying various watersports in the background.

Wearing their best red, white, and blue in honor of Independence Day, the family posed for a photo together.

In a second photo, Avery is sporting a huge smile, proudly displaying his new teeth alongside the family dog, Moose.

This marked Avery’s first Fourth of July, and another milestone moment for the McCreery family following his first visit to New York City.

Gabi and Avery accompanied the American Idol champ to the Big Apple where he performed his latest single, “It Matters To Her,” on Good Morning America.

Throughout Scotty McCreery’s performance, Gabi and Avery sweetly cheered him on from the side of the stage.

While in town, the family enjoyed the sights and sounds of the big city and later shared photos of videos of their “whirlwind” trip on Instagram.

“Avery couldn’t contain his excitement 🤪😅,” Gabi captioned a post that included photos and videos from Times Square and the GMA set.

McCreery recently co-hosted Country Countdown USA alongside Lon Helton, where he opened up about his 8-month-old son.

“He looks like a completely different human. He smiles and you realize that it’s not just ‘poop smiles’ anymore,” McCreery said. ”He’s already a little jokester, laughing at us, gives us these little winks, and he’s sleeping through the night.  We have a baby bus, so he has a crib on the bus, and they’re with me every day. It’s awesome.”

During his discussion with Helton, he also shared that his forthcoming new album will feature songs inspired by Avery.

“There will be a baby song on my next album, many more, every song has been inspired by him, every song has been influenced by the last six months of raising him, it’s a good place to be. I feel I have a lot of ideas, and a fresh place to be.”

McCreery’s forthcoming new album will serve as the follow-up to his latest release, Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.

Scotty and Gabi welcomed Merrick Avery on October 24, 2022. He arrived 11 days before his due date.

Becoming a father has quickly changed McCreery’s way of thinking and impacted the way he makes career decisions.

“The power of saying ‘no’ to some things is becoming a big thing for me,” the chart-topping star told US Magazine. “Realizing, ‘Hey man, you’re a father now.’ I wanna be there for my kid.”

While their lives are a bit “crazy right now” due to balancing life on the road with parenthood, the couple is enjoying every second.

“The last four or five months have been incredible just watching our little boy grow,” McCreery said. “We’ve had one [date] since having Avery. The grandparents came over and watched him while we went out to eat, and it was just nice. We love to eat and love to drink a nice glass of wine. I think we were both enjoying the time away, but we’re also wanting to get back to Avery.”

Scotty McCreery recently wrapped up his time on the road with Brooks & Dunn for the REBOOT Tour. He said joining the “Neon Moon” singers on the trek was a major career highlight.

“Having been a huge fan of their music all my life, going out on the road with Kix and Ronnie is a dream come true for me,” McCreery previously shared.

McCreery will continue to tour throughout the remainder of the year and has several fairs and festivals on the books. His next scheduled tour date is set for Friday, July 7, in Northfield, Ohio.
