Gabi and Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery’s just-released music video for his latest single, “You Time,” features a very special guest, his wife, Gabi.

Directed by Brianna Fish, the video is somewhat autobiographical for McCreery as it showcases a busy newlywed couple who spends time apart due to the husband’s job as a touring musician. Clips of the couple are intermixed with shots of McCreery performing “You Time” on stage.

At the end of the clip, things come full circle as McCreery’s wife, Gabi, is seen watching him perform from backstage. As his performance wraps, the country star joins Gabi hand-in-hand as he leaves the stage.

“When I wrote this song, I was on the road more than I’d ever been. I’d get home just in time to see Gabi heading off to work so I was really craving ‘You Time’ with her,” McCreery recently shared of the inspiration behind the song. “We wanted to capture that experience in the video plus we’ve got a really fun cameo so be sure you watch till the end!”

“You Time” is the first single from McCreery’s much-anticipated new album. The track, which was written by McCreery, Frank Rogers, and Aaron Eshuis; and produced by Rogers, Eshuis, and Derek Wells, is currently in the Top 40 at country radio.

Writing songs about his personal life is something that comes naturally to McCreery.

“I really love just writing about where I’m at in life. I’m not the guy that can just pull something from thin air and write a song about it. I gotta know it. I gotta live it, love it, that kinda thing,” he previously explained to Country Now. “So I do write a lot of personal songs. That’s just my nature.”

“You Time” follows McCreery’s three back-to-back No. 1’s from his 2018 Seasons Change album: the RIAA Double-Platinum Certified “Five More Minutes,” RIAA Platinum-Certified “This Is It” and RIAA Gold-Certified “In Between.”
