Scotty McCreery Christmas Card
Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, are giving fans a look at his personal family Christmas card celebrating his son’s first Christmas.
The country superstar and his wife Gabi McCreery took to social media on Friday (Dec. 23) to share a glimpse of their first Christmas card as a family of three. The festive card featured McCreery, his wife, son Merrick Avery McCreery, and their Labrador Retriever, Moose.
“Favorite Christmas cards yet 😁 @minted 🎄🎅🏻🎄” McCreery captioned the snapshots.
McCreery’s post included two photos. The first featured Moose situated next to a gift with The McCreerys’ first Christmas card.
The front of the card, which was created on Minted, featured a photo of The McCreerys posed with their newborn son in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree with the word Merrier printed over it.
The back of the holiday card served as a birth announcement documenting the date Avery was born, his weight at birth and the message: “Sending love from our family to yours this Christmas season! Love, Scotty, Gabi, Avery & Moose.”
This year marked their son Merrick Avery’s first Christmas. Merrick Avery was born on Monday, October 24 at 4:34 AM and weighed 7lbs 3oz at the time of his arrival.
The “Damn Strait” announced his son’s birth on Tuesday (Oct. 25) via Instagram. At the time, McCreery shared a series of five photos, including a photo of baby Merrick in his bassinet and photos of McCreery and his wife with their precious new bundle of joy.
“Never known a love like this,” McCreery wrote. “Merrick Avery McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love! Thank y’all for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God.”

McCreery recently told CMA that this year he received the “best Christmas present of all,” his 2-month-old son, Merrick.
“This is my first Christmas as a dad so I’m just excited to spend it as a family,” McCreery gushed. “You know, it’s always been me, my wife, and my dog [Moose] and now we’re adding a little man to it. So, I can’t wait… just kind of giving him presents that he won’t even know are there but that one day hopefully he’ll appreciate and just spending that quality time together is gonna be awesome.”
He then opened up about the Christmas traditions they have that he and Gabi hope to continue with their son.
“As far as traditions go me and my wife it’s typically just kind of the every other year with the family thing that we do so her family’s off in Louisiana so a lot of times we go to New Orleans for Christmas one year and then we’ll stay back in [North] Carolina for one Christmas with my family,” McCreery explained. “So, I have a feeling we’ll be continuing that on, so the baby will have some southern Christmases for sure, some Cajun Christmases. I didn’t grow up eating crawfish for Christmas but he’s gonna get used to it so it’s pretty awesome.”
This isn’t the first time McCreery has shared his family’s Christmas card with fans. In 2021, the card featured Scotty, his wife and their dog.
The front of the card simply read, “Merry Christmas – The McCreerys,” while the back included another family photo, a Bible verse and a special message from the couple.
“Sending love and joy from our family to yours this Christmas season,” the card read.
After soaking up the holidays at home with his family, Scotty McCreery will embark on a 20+ date tour in 2023, dubbed the Damn Strait Tour. The trek, which kicks off on January 20, 2023, in Hinton, OK at the Sugar Creek Casino, will visit over a dozen states and run through April of 2023.
“Looking forward to hitting the road in 2023 with the Damn Strait Tour,” McCreery previously shared. “I’ve enjoyed my time at home learning to be a Dad to Avery, but I’ve missed being onstage with the band and performing for the fans. Can’t wait to see everyone in the new year!”
The tour takes its name from McCreery’s fifth consecutive chart-topper, “Damn Strait,” which stayed at No.1 for several weeks and also landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Year End Country Airplay chart along with being named among Billboard’s “10 Best Country Songs of 2022.”
McCreery’s current single, “It Matters To Her” continues to climb the charts at Country radio and has reached No. 32 on this week’s Mediabase chart.
