The global icon will host the show live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and says she’s excited to deliver a memorable event showcasing all that country music has to offer.

“Country has some of the most passionate fans in music and us artists are so lucky to be supported in doing what we love,” Twain shared in a statement. “I am honored to host an award show that celebrates these awesome fans. Get ready for an unforgettable show with lots of big hair, glamour, rhinestones, hats, boots and incredible performances. Giddy Up!”

“With a proven track record of creating music that stands the test of time, Shania is a beloved member of the country community,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment, added. “As we return to the Grand Ole Opry House, she is the perfect person to help us celebrate country’s finest.”

The “People’s Choice Country Awards” is an offshoot of the popular fan-driven “People’s Choice Awards” franchise. Last year’s inaugural show, hosted by Opry members Little Big Town, celebrated the best in country music with fan-chosen awards across various categories. The night featured star-studded performances from Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, and Wynonna Judd, with Toby Keith and Wynonna Judd receiving Icon awards.

This was the night that Keith famously delivered his final television performance, taking the stage for a chilling rendition of “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

The 2023 “People’s Choice Country Awards” saw a 16% increase in total viewership compared to the 2022 “People’s Choice Awards” simulcast on NBC and E!. The telecast garnered 4.4 million viewers across all platforms, with content from the show reaching 25 million users across linear, digital, and social platforms.
