Thomas Rhett – Merry Christmas Yall

Thomas Rhett is kicking off the holiday season a little early this year. On Friday (Oct. 21), the country star surprised fans with the release of his first collection of Christmas classics titled, Merry Christmas, Y’all.

The singer got fans’ attention when he teased his recording of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” on social media just one day before its official release, but what his listeners didn’t expect was the three additional songs that also dropped along with it.

“You Know what that sounds like? A Warm fire. Christmas time, baby,” Rhett said in the cheerful clip.

The rest of the covers include “Winter Wonderland,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year,” and “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas.”

“I love everything about Christmas – there’s nothing like the holiday season,” Rhett said in a release. “I wanted to record some of the Christmas songs that my family and I enjoy every year. I hope this music gets everyone in the holiday spirit!”

Rhett gives fans a warm welcome into the bright and joyful season as he provides his take on the classic songs that have filled so many homes over the years. His rich vocals and traditional country sound brings these songs to a whole new level of comfort.

“I realize that it’s October, but in this house, it’s just never too early,” he shared on his Instagram story.

This collection marks the singer’s first set of holiday releases since 2019 when he unveiled a Christmas original, “Christmas In The Country,” as well as his rendition of the holiday classic “The Christmas Song.”

“Christmas In The Country” was written by Rhett, David Garcia, Ashley Gorley and Chris Tomlin and celebrates everything there is to love about a country Christmas.

“We got snowflakes falling on an old two-lane / Red-bow wreaths on a windowpane / Just sitting ’round the fire with the ones who love me / Miles from a city and the crazy crowds / Where the pine trees grow and the world slows down / Way out here, yeah, man I sure feel lucky / Doing Christmas in the country,” he sings throughout the chorus.

Rhett recently wrapped up the 2022 leg of his Bring The Bar To You Tour as it came to a close on Saturday evening (Oct. 15), at the Nutter Center, in Dayton, Ohio. The trek visited dozens of cities throughout the summer, including Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI, Atlanta, GA, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Thomas Rhett will get to enjoy some down time at home with his wife Lauren and daughters before launching the 2023 leg of the Bring The Bar To Your Tour with a Canadian Run in February, featuring support from Jordan Davis and Kameron Marlowe.

The tour, which is produced by Live Nation, will have its first Canadian stop at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC on February 2nd, 2023 and will conclude at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, ON on February 25th, 2023. There will be ten shows in total.
