With a career as hot as Thomas Rhett‘s, the superstar can pretty much hand-pick any songwriter in Nashville to join him for a songwriting session. But, at the end of the day, the father of three says his own dad, singer/songwriter Rhett Akins, is hands-down his favorite co-writer in town.
“My favorite person to write with, as a whole, I think is my dad,” he recently revealed in an interview with his record label. “Even though I write with a bunch of other people, my dad and I do have a pretty special bond. Probably because he’s my dad, but he’s also like a really good friend of mine and a really fun co-writer.”
The pair have collaborated on countless songs together, including three tracks on Thomas Rhett’s latest album, Center Point Road. Rhett Akins even joined Thomas Rhett on tour in 2019, opening up his Very Hot Summer Tour with an acoustic set.
