Tim McGraw announced that his next album, Standing Room Only, is set to drop August 25, via Big Machine Records. Along with this news, the three-time Grammy Award-winning superstar also unveiled a brand-new track of the project titled, “Hey Whiskey.”
The 13-track album was produced by McGraw and his longtime producing partner Byron Gallimore. Together, they crafted a full-length collection that features McGraw’s signature Country sound, his charming vocals and meaningful songs.
“As an artist, I always want to dig deeper and get better every time I make a new record – it’s a big part of what drives me, and I really believe this is one of the best projects we’ve made,” McGraw stated in a press release.

Follow-Up To Here On Earth
Standing Room Only marks McGraw’s first new record since 2020’s Here On Earth, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Chart and spawned fan-favorite hits including “7500 OBO” and “I Called Mama.”
He continued, “I’ve been working on this album since 2020, and this collection of songs are some of the most emotional, thought-provoking, and life-affirming music I’ve ever recorded. I’m excited to have ‘Hey Whiskey’ out so fans can start hearing more of what we’re working on – and maybe even more before August…”
Today’s release of “Hey Whiskey” offers fans another glimpse into Standing Room Only, following the album’s first single and title track “Standing Room Only.” The title track dropped in March and is quickly climbing through the Top 20 on the Billboard and Mediabase radio charts, marking McGraw’s 92nd career entrance onto Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.
This only adds to the success McGraw has seen throughout his career. He’s amassed 68 Top 10s and holds the Mediabase record for the most weeks at No. 1 with all titles, with a total of 73 weeks. The “I Like It, I Love It” singer also holds the record for second-most No. 1 albums in the U.S. just behind George Strait.
The new song was paired with an accompanying lyric video that sets the tone for the powerful tune. McGraw’s silky vocals sail across the dreamy guitar picks and slow-tempo tune as he delivers a message to a glass of Whiskey, begging to find the answer to how the strong drink could have convinced him to make such poor decisions regarding his love interest.
“I let you stay, you made her leave / You made me say things I don’t mean / To the only girl that ever made me choose I gave you everything I had / Went to hell and can’t get back / The only thing I couldn’t stand to lose / Hey whiskey / Hey whiskey, what’d I ever do to you,” he delivers on the chorus.
