Trace Adkins is ready to embark on the next chapter of his career with the announcement of a new record deal and single.
The acclaimed country singer, who has sold 11 million albums over the course of his career, has signed with Verge Records. The recently relaunched label is led by Mickey Jacke Cones, who has previously worked on several of Adkins’ records.
Along with the announcement of his new label home, Adkins also shared plans to release “Better Off,” his new single co-written by Hillary Lindsey, Corey Crowder and Liz Rose. The song, which is available for pre-save now, will be released on March 20.
“Trace is a country music icon. We are beyond elated to be teaming up with him on this next chapter of his career. I’ve had the privilege of working on all but two of Trace’s records since 2005, so I don’t take this partnership lightly. We have something to prove, and we’re going to prove it!” Cones shared in a statement.
“I am excited about my merge with Verge. My desire to create and release new music is as strong now as when I first started,” Adkins added. “Mickey Jack and I have collaborated on several projects, and I look forward to several more.”
Adkins will soon take his new music on the road with The Way I Wanna Go Tour 2020, which kicks off April 15 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Fans can visit Trace Adkins’ official website for additional details.
