In order to bring his latest, fan-favorite single, “ABBY,” to life, chart-topping country artist Travis Denning has created a humorous music video using the song’s comedic undertone.
“‘ABBY’ has always been a song that typically gets a good laugh when people first hear the lyrics,” said Denning in a release. “So, when it came to a concept for the music video, it just made sense for it to be something that matched that sentiment of lightheartedness and not taking yourself too seriously.”
Denning thought back to some of the most legendary country music videos and decided to use bits and pieces of those scenes to create his own. The music video for “ABBY” started and ended with Denning’s character sitting on a couch, imagining some of the greatest footage of the early 2000’s and thinking how cool it would be for him to make something just as memorable with his music.
Throughout the video, directed by PJ Brown, Denning does just that as each character he plays embraces some of the best moments in country music videos from the early 2000s.
“We had so much fun shooting this music video and honestly just paying tribute to some of my favorite artists in the genre, from Toby Keith to Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney to Montgomery Gentry. I hope everyone feels that when they’re watching it,” added Denning.
Since being released last year on his debut EP, “ABBY” has been streamed over 17 million times and even reached No.1 on Sirius XM’s Highway Hot 30 Countdown. This song follows his first No. 1 and GOLD-certified single, “After A Few,” which was also featured on Denning’s EP, Beer’s Better Cold.
So sit back with a cold beer and reminisce some of the better days of the 2000s as you watch this charming music video starring Travis Denning.
