Tucker Wetmore has experienced another whirlwind year. The Washington native kicked off 2026 with another No. 1 single as “Brunette” climbed to the top of the charts. He then took his Brunette World Tour overseas, playing packed-out shows across the U.K. and Europe before returning to the states for a run of sold-out shows. In the spring, he added another major career milestone when he won ACM New Male Artist of the Year.
Wetmore hasn’t slowed down since, releasing his Sunburn Mixtape in July and continuing to climb the country radio charts with his latest single, “Who Told You That.”

Recently, the singer/songwriter added another milestone to his growing list of accomplishments when he earned a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the 2026 CMA Awards. The recognition means a lot to Wetmore, who said he feels fortunate to do what he loves every day.
“I was ecstatic. I just feel so lucky that I get to do this every day,” he told Country Now backstage at the CMA Foundation’s 10th Annual Music Teachers of Excellence event. “And for an organization like CMAs to notice the hard work that I’m putting in or notice my artistry.. I don’t know. It just makes me feel appreciated and accepted within the community. And I’m very excited. I’m very excited for the night.”
With his tour dates winding down and just five shows remaining on his schedule for the rest of the year, Wetmore is looking forward to some well-deserved downtime. While he plans to celebrate at the CMA Awards, he also has his sights set on an island getaway where he can unplug after such a busy stretch.
“I’m definitely going to go to the islands at some point and kind of chill out, maybe throw my phone in the ocean and disappear for a little bit. That’s my plan.”
When asked if he planned to take the “do not deesturb” line from his song “Sunburn” to heart, Wetmore laughed and confirmed that was exactly the plan.
“Do not deesturb,” he said with a smile.

Prior to his island getaway, the CMA Awards will crown the winner of CMA New Artist of the Year during the 60th Annual CMA Awards. Wetmore is nominated alongside Avery Anna, Carter Faith, Emily Ann Roberts, and Steven Wilson Jr.
Hosted by Lainey Wilson, the show will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 18, at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. The broadcast will also be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
