Blake Shelton and his wife Gwen Stefani proved they are “Happy Anywhere” with their performance at CMA Summer Jam.
The pre-taped performance, filmed at Ascend Amphitheater in late July, found Shelton and Stefani happier than ever while performing their chart-topping duet “Happy Anywhere,” a song that appears on Shelton’s latest project, Body Language.
Ahead of their performance, Shelton gushed about married life, “Married life so far is, it’s incredible, I mean it’s ya know everything that it already was, which was awesome you know. Just, she can’t get away from me now.”
Shelton introduced Stefani to the stage as “Gwen Stefani Shelton,” making for a heartwarming moment between the pair.
The newlyweds were beaming as the performed the the No.1 smash and even shared a sweet kiss on stage as fans cheered on from their seats.

“Happy Anywhere” was co-written by Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Matt Jenkins and follows the release of Shelton and Stefani’s chart-topping duet, “Nobody But You.” The track marks the couple’s fourth collaboration together.
“You know, ‘Happy Anywhere’ has got to be one of the most fun songs that I’ve ever had a chance to record and the actual recording process was a blast. Listening to it afterwards was a blast,” Shelton previously explained of the song. “I had a moment where Gwen told me, “You know, there’s something about this song that just makes you smile.” And it doesn’t hurt that it has Happy in the title.”
The song went No. 1 in 2020, marking Shelton’s 28th No. 1 single and Stefani’s second chart-topper at country radio.
Earlier in the show, Shelton also performed “Boys Round Here,” “God’s Country” and “Minimum Wage.”
CMA Summer Jam also featured performances from Jimmie Allen, Gabby Barrett, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Cole Swindell, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, and Lainey Wilson.
Additionally, the three-hour show included star-studded collaborations by Bentley with HARDY & BRELAND, Underwood and Dwight Yoakam, Lambert with Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line feat. Rhett, newlyweds Shelton and Stefani, as well as Swindell & Bryan.
CMA Summer Jam aired on Thursday, September 2 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET) on ABC.
