Country hitmakers Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan bring their poignant new collaboration, “Buy Dirt,” to life with a brand new music video.

Out now, the clip brings the story song to life through images showcasing life on a farm, children enjoying time in the outdoors, and couples beginning their lives together. Shots of Davis and Bryan performing the track in a large field at golden hour are interspersed throughout the video as well.

“Buy Dirt” is the title track of Davis’ new EP and has become one of Davis’ fastest growing songs to date, having spent 11 consecutive weeks inside the Top 200 on the Country Streaming Chart and currently sitting at No. 47 on the chart. To date, the touching song has garnered 45 million global streams and over 28 thousand track downloads.

“‘Buy Dirt’ to me is about faith, family and friends, and really finding your happiness. That’s what that song means to me,” Davis explained during a recent appearance on  Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country.

Davis went on to share how the idea to invite Bryan to join him came about and revealed that he had him in mind from the moment they wrote the song.

“There’s nobody in this business that embodies that more than Luke Bryan. The dude is all about his family, is all about having a good time and all about his farms, his property, getting out in the woods. Which is why the second we wrote it, we were like, ‘We got to get this song to Luke. If he wants to cut it great. If not, I’m going to cut it, I’m going to ask him to sing on it with me,’ Davis recalled.

“So fortunately I sent him a text message and I was like, ‘Hey, man, I want you to listen to this song. I think you’re going to connect with it. If you want to be a part of it, I would love for you to. Obviously don’t even feel the need to respond, but check it out. Let me know.’ And he got right back to me. And it was funny, he was actually driving out to his farm when he got the message. So I couldn’t think of a better guy to be on it with me it.”

Co-written by Davis alongside his brother, Jacob Davis, and frequent collaborators Josh Jenkins and Matt Jenkins, “Buy Dirt” was born during a tough time in Davis’ life when he found himself at home with no tour dates on the books in 2020.

“In all honesty, I was a wreck. I didn’t know when I was going to be performing again. I didn’t know what my band guys were going to do. I didn’t know if I was going to get my band guys back. Releasing music was at a standstill,” he admitted. “And I’m sitting there and I kind of let it carry over into my personal life and I was kicking myself for it. And I just had to say, ‘You know what? Music is music. And I’m very grateful and blessed to be in it, but it’s gone now. But you still have your family, you still have your faith, you still have your friends and the world’s still spinning. You’re going to be all right, man.’”

“Buy Dirt” is currently Top 40 and climbing on the country radio charts, following Davis’ most recent Top 5 single, “Almost Maybes,” and his three consecutive multi-platinum No. 1 singles, “Singles You Up,” “Take It From Me,” and “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot.”
