Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion throw back a few cold ones in the just-released music video for their new collaboration, “Beer With My Friends.”

“I’m here to have some beer with my friends at an Old Dominion pop-up show,” Chesney says in the opening scene.

The clip features footage from Old Dominion’s summer pop-up concerts as well as Chesney’s headlining Stadium tour dates on the record-breaking Here And Now Tour, which played to 1.3 million fans. Footage from backstage and scenes from their tour bus hangs are also interspersed throughout the clip.

“I tried to tell friends how magical it was up on that stage, how good the vibe was out there,” Chesney explains. “Not since we started doing those early Keg shows have I had that much fun doing a pop-up – maybe because Old Dominion was doing all the work! But it was just free, easy and I think everyone remembered who they were before the world got so heavy. Or maybe it’s just that music really does melt all the stress of the week away…”

The longtime collaborators were also sure to include No Shoes Nation throughout the music video with clips of their parking lot tailgate parties.

“No Shoes Nation is just an extension of my soul,” Chesney adds. ”When I was looking at all the footage, laughing to myself, I knew I needed to share some of this with everyone who came out all summer. So what better way to do that?”

The reigning ACM Group Of The Year and eight-time Entertainer Of The Year released the song while on the road together and live debuted the tune at the conclusion of the tour over two nights at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Co-written by David Lee Murphy, Shy Carter, and Bryan Simpson, “Beer With My Friends” encapsulates all the feel-good vibes and carefree energy that Chesney and Old Dominion have become known for.

“Right now I really need a beer with my friends/ Pop a top or two and talk about way back when/ With some folks that seen me through thick and thin/ Start seeing life through a rose-colored neon lens/ We’re gonna get that old jukebox working hard/ Before it’s over I’ll know everybody in this bar/ It’s been too long no matter how long it’s been/ Right now I really need a beer with my friends,” they sing on the chorus.

“We’ve all been there,” Chesney admits. “It doesn’t matter if it’s four years or yesterday, there’s nothing like hitting that local bar with your friends. That’s what this whole tour has felt like – every city, every face, every song – as we’ve taken it back out to No Shoes Nation. It’s so much more than a show or a concert, it’s really letting go – and I wanted to capture that in a song. ‘Beer With My Friends’ is all of it.”

The tune may sound familiar as co-writers Carter and Murphy previously released the song as a collaboration with Cole Swindell in 2021.

“Beer With My Friends” follows Chesney’s 19th studio album, Here and Now, which spawned the singles “Knowing You,” “Everyone She Knows,” “Happy Does” and “Tip Of My Tongue,” as well as the title track.
