Morgan Wallen is giving fans an important update regarding his first-ever stadium concert, which will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, October 8.
The “You Proof” singer took to his Instagram stories on Tuesday evening (Oct. 4) with a video message to give fans “the details about this weekend.”
“I am scheduled to play a show in Arlington, Texas on the 8th. I will still be playing that show, but HARDY unfortunately will not be,” Wallen said. “He and a few of his crew members had a bus crash late on Saturday/early Sunday morning. Everyone is okay, but the bus driver is not in the clear yet, so please say some prayers for him. Send some love and support, his name’s Ricky.”
Wallen went on to reveal that HARDY will no longer be serving as direct support as he recovers from the bus crash, and let fans attending the Arlington show know that ERNEST will be stepping in as his replacement.
“HARDY, man, I think you know how bad I wanted you to be a part of my first stadium show, but way more important than that I’m just glad you’re alive,” Wallen continued. “ERN is going to fill in for HARDY. So, we keepin’ it all in the fam, and we’re still going to have a good time, but please keep HARDY and his crew and Ricky specifically in your prayers. See y’all on Saturday!”
ERNEST also took to Instagram to update fans attending the Arlington concert and HARDY’s original headlining show at Flanagan’s in Columbus, Ohio on October 13, which ERNEST will now be headlining.
“Due to this week’s events… I’ll be covering for my brother HARDY this weekend in Arlington, TX 10/8 and will be headlining Flanagan’s in Columbus, OH on 10/13…” ERNEST began, before revealing that he was forced to cancel his concert in Huntsville on Saturday (Oct. 8) in order for him to fill in for HARDY on the two concerts. “Huntsville that unfortunately means we have to cancel the show on Saturday [Oct. 8] but I’ll make it up to y’all soon… I promise! Please keep team HARDY and bus driver Ricky in ur thoughts and prayers.”
The update from Wallen came minutes after HARDY shared a video message revealing the news with his fans. He also gave an update on members of his touring crew who were also involved in Sunday’s accident.
“What’s up guys, HARDY here, just giving an update on myself. I just got done hanging out with Tanner [Gallagher], Tanner is okay. Noah [Brown] is okay, we still want you guys to pray for our bus driver, Ricky, who is still not in the clear yet, so if you guys could please pray for him that would be greatly appreciated,” HARDY said in the clip.
He went on to reveal that he feels it’s best to delay his return to the road.
“I have decided that it is in my best interest to cancel the shows that I have coming up and that is Arlington, Texas, and that is Flanagan’s in Columbus, Ohio. I’m very sorry, but it’s just what I need to do right now.”
The sold-out concert, which marks the final date of Wallen’s record-breaking Dangerous Tour, will also feature special guests ERNEST, Mike Ryan, and Jake Worthington.
“I grew up playing baseball… spending more nights than I can count on fields in East Tennessee, it’s a special moment to be back on the field but doing my thing with my band,” Wallen said about the show, which will take place at the home of the Texas Rangers.
Wallen’s first-ever stadium concert became the fastest sellout in Globe Life Field history with nearly all the tickets for Wallen’s show sold out during the pre-sales.
A Globe Life Field representative told Music Mayhem that the concert also sold over 37,000 tickets by the end of first day public onsale, surpassing rockstars Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard, who sold 36,000 tickets by the end of the day in which they went on sale.
The East Tennessee native’s 2022 touring schedule will come to a close following his final concert of the year at Country Thunder Florida in Kissimmee, Florida on October 22.
