WATCH: Riley Green Stumbles Through Hilarious ‘Think As You Drunk’ Music Video

Riley Green is fully embracing the chaos of his latest summer anthem in the newly released music video for “Think As You Drunk.” 

The Wes Edwards directed video opens with a wide shot of Green’s Duck Blind bar in Midtown Nashville before the country star finds himself making his way inside after what appears to have been a long day of drinking. He immediately starts arguing with the scared bartender and attempts to put him in his place by saying, “Just who the hell do you think you are? I pay the light bill in this bar,” after being cut off from ordering another beer.

Then, Green’s beloved dog, Carl the Cowboy Corgi, makes his first of several appearances throughout the video, first sitting on the bar and getting an earful of Green and later getting caught carrying around his owner’s missing boot. As the country star continues to stagger around with blurred vision, he confidently raises his glass to who he believes is a beautiful blonde woman, only for viewers to discover he’s actually flirting with an older woman riding a motorized scooter with a cigarette in hand.

He eventually makes his way home, where he attempts to convince his significant other that he’s perfectly fine and definitely did not have too much to drink, however it comes out a little twisted as he sings, “I ain’t as think as you drunk I am.” Unsurprisingly, the frustrated woman sends him away, leading him to drive away on a riding lawn mower and ends up getting pulled over for driving under the influence (a nod to the famous George Jones incident). Even his attempt to prove his sobriety to the responding officer doesn’t go according to plan, but somehow he still landing back at Duck Blind, where he’s given the chance to finish out the song with the customers.

The video closes with a heartfelt tribute to Toby Keith, showing a photo of the late icon raising a red Solo cup as his unmistakable voice echoes through the final moments of the track.

Each scene of the music video builds on the song’s hilarious and chaos-filled story, making the  Multi-PLATINUM, ACM and CMA Award-winning singer-songwriter’s drunken adventure even more entertaining to watch.

Co-written by Green alongside Erik Dylan, Wyatt McCubbin, Jessi Alexander and the late Toby Keith posthumously, “Think As You Drunk” came together in just 20 minutes. The song also serves as a nod to Keith’s 2005 hit “As Good As I Once Was,” using its timeless melody to set the tone for the rowdy party anthem while Green delivers his original the story in the lyrics.

The tribute comes full circle during the closing seconds of the song, when Keith’s original vocals are woven into the track as he delivers the memorable line from his original release, “May not be good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.”

“Think as You Drunk” is set to appear on Riley Green’s forthcoming album, That’s Just Me, due September 18th via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Produced by Dan Huff, the new project came together what can easily be described as a pivotal year for Green. It is expected to offer a collection of deeply personal stories that shows fans many different sides to him as a person as well as his artistry, through themes of love, heartbreak, care-free moments and more

In addition to “Think as You Drunk,” the album also features previously released tracks “My Way,” which was featured on CBS’ hit series Marshals, and his duet with Hannah McFarland, “Go Again.”

Along with unveiling new music, Riley Green recently expanded his Cowboy As It Gets Tour with 10 additional arena dates, adding stops in cities including Long Beach, Los Angeles and Austin. Before then, he’ll continue his summer run with appearances at Country Thunder Saskatchewan tonight, July 10 and Rock the Country in Ashland, Kentucky, on Saturday July 11.
