Scotty McCreery joined forces with Hootie & The Blowfish to bring their massive summertime anthem, “Bottle Rockets,” to life in a carefree, sun-filled music video.

Filmed on the Isle of Palms just outside Charleston, South Carolina, the video finds the musical acts soaking up some rays as they strum their instruments and sing the tune around a fire with the ocean waves as their backdrop. The laid-back day of making lifelong memories continues into the night as the sun sets, offering the perfect opportunity to set off some bottle rockets into the sky.

Directed by McCreery’s frequent collaborator Jeff Ray and produced by Kelsey Pribilski-Ray, the visuals perfectly match the song’s upbeat, feel-good nature.

“Hanging out on the beach with Hootie & The Blowfish, one of my favorite bands of all time, and filming the video for ‘Bottle Rockets’ was just a perfect day for me,” said McCreery. “Darius, Mark, Dean, and Soni are not only talented, but just great guys. I’ve been so excited at all that success that ‘Bottle Rockets’ has had so far, and I’m glad we were able to get together and create this video for everyone.”

The North Carolina sets the tone with his signature baritone vocals lighting up the track while lead singer of the legendary band, Darius Rucker, intertwines the group’s warm harmonies, incorporating lyrics of their mega-hit “Hold My Hand” into the new track.

Together, they take listeners back to the days of being young and free with no responsibilities in sight. For both McCreery and Rucker, the universal feelings of young love and a newfound freedom that comes with turning 17 is rooted in their upbringings in the Carolinas.

They sing, “Bottle rockets in the sky/ Bare feet in the sand/ Bonfire in her eyes/ Cold beer in a can/ Moonlight on the waves/ Her kiss in the dark/ The smile on her face when she’d make me break out my guitar and play/ Hold my hand/ Hold my hand.”

“Bottle Rockets” was produced by Frank Rogers, and written by McCreery, Rogers, Brent Anderson, Derek George, Jeremy Bussey, Monty Criswell, Bobby Hamrick, Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld. The tune came out of the gate strong, and is currently #3 on the Mediabase Country Airplay Chart and #3 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, marking McCreery’s fastest rising single of his career to date.

The song is on the “Swim Up Bar” singer’s recently released five-song EP, Scooter & Friends, alongside collaborations with R&B icon Charlie Wilson (“Once Upon a Bottle of Wine”) and with Country music hitmaker Lee Brice (“Whiskey Said”).

Scotty McCreery is gearing up to launch his co-headlining Two for the Road Tour alongside Dustin Lynch. The tour is set to kick-off on November 6th in Saginaw, MI.
