Scotty McCreery creates a digital scrapbook of his journey as a first-time parent with his wife, Gabi, in the music video for his current single, “It Matters To Her.”

Austin, Texas-based filmmaker Jeff Ray serves as the director on this project and four other McCreery music videos including “Five More Minutes,” “This is It,” “In Between,” and “Damn Strait.” In the opening footage of the video filmed in North Carolina, a baby book for their newborn son, Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery, serves as the focal point.

A series of clips and images follow, capturing the milestone moments the couple has experienced throughout the pregnancy including the positive test result, ultrasound photos, “baby’s Opry debut,” and getting the nursery ready. The final clip shows heartfelt images from Tuesday, October 24, which is the day McCreery and Gabi welcomed their little boy into the world.

“I wanted to really focus the video on Gabi and our preparations for Avery’s arrival,” McCreery shared. “We filmed some of it over the course of several months at home in Raleigh when we were getting the nursery ready. We also filmed some of it at our place at North Topsail Beach. I think you can see in the video how excited we were getting for Avery to get here as well as how amazing Gabi was throughout the entire pregnancy.”

Before its official release, the North Carolina native dropped a teaser of the video on social media. In his caption, McCreery shared that the song “took on a different meaning this past year.”

Written by Scotty McCreery, Rhett Akins, and Lee Thomas Miller and produced by Frank Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “It Matters To Her” is currently rising up the country airplay charts. This song follows his five consecutive No. 1 hits, including his recent three-week No. 1, RIAA- Gold certified smash “Damn Strait.”

“When you think she don’t see / When you think she don’t care / When you think she don’t notice / What you’re doing there / Every little look / Every single word / Oh, it matters to her,” he sings in the chorus that sums up some of the lessons he has learned in the four years of marriage.

“It Matters to Her” was officially released to Country radio on Monday (Sept. 12) and can be found on Scotty McCreery’s Same Truck: The Deluxe Album, which will be available on Friday (Nov. 18). The project is set to feature six additional new songs that were not a part of the track list on the original album that was released in 2021, including the recently released tracks “Nothin’ Right” and “Small Town Stories.”

“I am pumped that Triple Tigers asked me to do a Deluxe Edition where I could add six more songs,” McCreery said in a release. “We’ve also had a lot of requests for a vinyl version of Same Truck over the last year, so I’m excited we can offer that option as well.”

The “You Time” singer has been touring all summer, both on his own as well as direct support to Brooks & Dunn, and Brad Paisley at select shows. He is currently on paternity leave, but plans to return to the road on Nov. 30 when he headlines the National Finals Rodeo’s Downtown Hoedown on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Nevada.
