Scotty McCreery sets the perfect beachside imagery to his sentimental tune, “Porch” in a brand-new music video.
Since fans have been loving the final track on the American Idol alum’s latest album, Rise & Fall, he decided to give it a bit more attention with an accompanying video that effortlessly captures the laid-back vibe.
With lyrics that pay tribute to his favorite place to hang out at home, it was only fitting that McCreery film the footage with his wife, Gabi, their dog Moose and their almost two-year-old son, Avery, in their home of North Carolina.
Soaking In The Beautiful Sunset
The family of four embraces the warm air by making their way down to the nearest beach to enjoy the last moments before the sun sets for the day. Avery looks as happy as can be to be walking barefoot in between his loving parents and watching their pup run freely on the soft surface. In between the loving family moments portrayed across the screen, Scotty McCreery’s rich baritone vocals are creating a warm, nostalgic sound that highlights all the memories that can be made on a porch throughout different stages of life.
He starts out by visualizing the scenario of a young man going to pick up his “pretty girl” at her home, knowing that if he doesn’t abide by her dad’s strict curfew, a warning will be sent through the flicker of a porch light. As he reaches the chorus, McCreery further emphasis’s many of the reasons why he prefers to spend his days relaxing on the elevated space, just watching the world move around him.
“Whoa, you can find me/ Getting lost in a Carolina breeze/ Whoa, it’s where I wanna be/ When the sunset’s cutting through the trees/ Swaying on a swing, just talking to the Lord/ I’ve done a lot of good living just sitting on the porch,” he sings on the chorus.

Later in the song, the singer/songwriter notes that this setting is also where he finds himself reflecting on the fact that even though his little boy is going to grow up and move on one day, he will “always have a spot by your daddy on the porch.”
“It kind of has that Appalachian feel to it, which is where the album, a lot of it, was made,” McCreery told Country Now. “Then kind of the end, the last verse, [is] a little nod to my little man back home just like, ‘Hey man, it’s crazy big world out there, but you always can always come back to Daddy if you want to’.”
He went on to note that his other half, Gabi, “loves” the sweet song that he penned with Greylan James and Heather Morgan.
Fall of Summer Tour
The music video comes in the midst of celebrating his sixth US No. 1 with “Cab in a Solo,” another track that appears on his latest album, which earned a spot on Country Now’s list of the Best Country Albums of 2024 (So Far).
The Triple Tigers recording artist is currently performing tracks from this project as well as his six No. 1 hits on his headlining Fall of Summer Tour. This trek features stops in cities across the U.S. and Canada, including Santa Fe, NM; Bakersfield, CA; Stamford, CT; Windsor, Ontario; Kansas City, MO, and more before wrapping up on December 7.
Returning To The UK
Next year, he will make his long-awaited return to the UK with five headline dates across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“It’s been too long and I cannot wait to come back to the UK,” said McCreery. “We’ve had so many e-mails and social media posts from fans asking us to return, and I’m happy to say ‘we’re coming!’ I’ve never been to Belfast or Birmingham before, and I am looking forward to visiting those cities. I’ve only been to Glasgow as part of C2C a few years ago, so I’m excited to come on my own. And the band and I had a blast the last time we were in London and Manchester, so I knew we had to come back there. It’s always special to come and perform in the UK!”
This run of shows will kick off on May 23 in Belfast and continue through May 30.
