Jon Pardi and his wife Summer recently announced to the world that they are expecting their first child. A few days later, she took to social media to share the clever way she told Pardi that she’s pregnant.

Instead of just directly telling him the news, she decided to get creative with it. To make her message clear, she taped a sign to their new boat that read, “baby on board,” with the positive pregnancy test posted next to it. In her Instagram caption, she joked that even with the obvious clues, Pardi didn’t catch on right away.

“We had just gotten our new boat and I said there was a big scratch on the back of it. Even with the baby on board sign AND pregnancy test he still didn’t get it,” she wrote in the caption of the video that captures Pardi’s reaction, which goes from confused to excited in a matter of seconds.

She added, “He thought I was just making fun of him because the boat was his new baby 🤦🏼‍♀️.”

Luckily, they were able to laugh about his misunderstanding right after the realization hit. Summer shared that soon after, Pardi was already taking his new role very seriously. “5 minutes later he was blasting baby shark in the kitchen, already thriving hahah.”

The heartwarming video shows the couple embracing in a hug after he finally saw that Summer wasn’t joking around. She also included a few other photos of their journey so far such as the ultrasound, the two pink lines on the test, her baby bump and footage of her and Pardi dancing together on stage during one of his concerts.

In her following post, Summer shared some extra footage of the couple telling their family the exciting news.

“If you’re ready to cry some more… here’s the video of how we told my parents 🥰 said we had a belated Mother’s Day/Early Father’s Day joint gift,” she wrote.

For this reveal, she gave her parents a baby onesie and unlike Pardi, they instantly understood what she was trying to say. Her mom broke out in tears of joy before embracing the new parents in a hug. The video also featured a montage of her and Pardi’s baby photos before concluding with clips of both the loving couples dancing around their homes.

“Still trying to figure out why i was shirtless 🤷🏼‍♂️,” Pardi said jokingly in the comment section of her video.

The lovebirds broke the news exclusively with People on Wednesday (Sept. 22) and shared a series of stunning photos on social media that showed off Summer’s baby bump.

“Wellllll, it happened. No plans, no timing, just a gift from god. I’m ready for it!,” Pardi wrote in his caption.

With this being their first baby, the mom-to-be told the outlet that she’s “equally excited and nervous” about stepping into her new role, but is looking forward to seeing the “Head Over Boots” singer as a dad.

“He’s such a big kid at heart, always the life of the party and has such positive energy so I can only imagine how much fun this little Pardi addition will be for him and our family,” she said. “I know [being parents] is going to be the greatest gift in the world.”

This exciting news follows the release of Pardi’s Mr. Saturday Night album, which features his latest single, “Your Heart Or Mine.” Co-penned by Bart Butler, Justin Ebach and John Pierce, this song serves as the follow-up to his recent No. 1 hit, “Last Night Lonely.”

“’Your Heart Or Mine’ is definitely a song that’s a push-pull relationship, like do I want this? Do I, I know I want this, but it’s so much fun,” Pardi shared. “It’s kind of sexy, so it’s definitely a different one for the record, but I think it’s awesome.”

Jon Pardi is currently on the road for his Ain’t Always The Cowboy tour and his next stop with special guests Lainey Wilson and Hailey Whitters will take place in Southaven, MS on Thursday (Sept. 29).
