Whiskey Myers is continuing to share new music with fans with the official release of the third song off their forthcoming sixth album, Tornillo, set to release July 29th.
The new track, “Antioch,” was written by lead singer Cody Cannon and tells the story of a young man’s journey through an abusive home – even painting details of joining the military and getting into trouble with the law.
A few of the strong, powerful lyrics include:
I hate him so much even though I bear his name
I can’t take him right now but one day that’s gonna change
When I get grown
’Cause Mama don’t cry when Daddy’s gone
The album’s lead single, “John Wayne,” caught traction with fans with the gospel-like background vocals and attention-grabbing horns. (For the full Tornillo track list, see below.)
With more than 1.2 million albums sold and 1.5 billion-plus streams, the three-time RIAA Gold-certified band will be hitting the road beginning next month. Visiting over 40 cities, Whiskey Myers will be kicking off the Tornillo Tour in Beaumont, TX on April 23rd and ending their run August 13th in Cheyenne, WY. For more tour dates, see below.
