The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards aired on Wednesday (Sept. 16), bringing a small sense of normalcy to an incredibly unpredictable year. Although the show was a bit different this year, airing from Nashville instead of Las Vegas and without a live audience, the star-studded broadcast offered a much-needed taste of live music.
The 2020 ACM Awards, included several buzzed-about moments, including a plot twist no one saw coming with Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood tying for the night’s top honor of Entertainer of the Year, as well as a few show-stopping performances that had fans talking long after the cameras stopped rolling.
Here, we re-live the night’s top moments with a look back at Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Mickey Guyton, Kane Brown and Miranda Lambert’s incredible performances.

Still in disbelief this just happened. Performing "What Are You Gonna Tell Her?" at the @opry for the @acmawards was so incredibly special. Something I will remember forever. 💜 Thank you @keithurban for joining me. #ACMAwards pic.twitter.com/3CCUe96ZUj
