ACM Nominee Ashley McBryde Prepares To Fan Girl Over Host Reba McEntire
“She’s always so nice and so down to earth,” said McBryde
When the ACM Awards roll around each year, it ends up feeling like what Ashley McBryde describes as “summer camp” because it involves an abundance of country stars all gathering in one place to celebrate each other.
“It’s wonderful. I just saw Lainey (Wilson) in the hallway, and we were hugging,” said McBryde. “I don’t know if all genres get together specifically to celebrate one another but country music does. We just find so many reasons to get dressed up in a room and clap for each other.”
This year, McBryde finds herself in good company among her fellow Female Artist of the Year nominees – Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson. And she will especially be championing the host of the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, Reba McEntire.
Looking Forward To Reba’s Many Wardrobe Changes
The Arkansas native admitted that she has to be “so careful” around McEntire as she may not be able to help herself from fangirling over the country music icon.
“She’s always so nice and so down to earth,” McBryde explained before sharing her excitement over all of the “I’m A Survivor” singer’s wardrobe changes throughout the evening.
“I went to the live show last year and her wardrobe changing is amazing. And you all know that that moment is coming in ‘Fancy’ where it becomes the little red piece, but you’re all just like, it’s going to happen any minute. It’s going to happen, and then it happens and you’re like, yes. That was it.”
