Country supergroup Alabama will kick off Camping World’s virtual weekly concert series, Taking the Highways Across America, on Tuesday (Sept. 15), Country Now can exclusively confirm. The free virtual event marks the iconic band’s first and only concert performance of 2020.

Fans can tune into the livestream via Camping World’s website, Facebook, YouTube or Twitter beginning at 8 pm CT.

“We are happy that we get to play our music live where you can watch for free in the safety of your home, camper or motorhome,” Alabama frontman Randy Owen shares. “Thanks to our friends at Camping World for making this possible. We hope and pray that everyone is staying healthy and following the safety rules for the pandemic. The streaming of our live show allows us to come to you in a safe way to once again enjoy live music!”

“One thing Randy, Jeff and I have in common with Camping World is we have been on a camping trip for the last 50 plus years… in our camper buses visiting our fans in cities across North America,” adds Alabama bass player and vocalist Teddy Gentry. “We also live out in the country on top of a mountain and spend time in the woods and on the farm every day. We are thrilled to play this special concert for Camping World and our fans around the world.”

Hosted by country radio personality Shawn Parr, the series will livestream on select Tuesdays at 8 pm CT through November 24. Additional performers for the series will be announced soon.

Alabama is the most successful group in country music history. With 43 chart-topping singles, including 21 consecutive No.1’s, the group was also inducted as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. Alabama has also received countless awards, including CMA, GRAMMY, and ACM Awards.

Next year, Alabama will continue their 50th Anniversary Tour back-to-back concerts at Bridgestone Arena on July 2 and July 3, 2021. Country superstar Martina McBride will join the group at both shows. Tickets are available to purchase now.
